Too long sitting in front of a computer making rapid brittle bones

Nowadays a computer is one thing to be a part of our daily lives , especially for teenagers and young people . Even so , it's good that not too long young people spend their time in front of the television or computer screen . Because a recent study revealed that spending too much time to sit in front of computers and televisions can make bones brittle faster .

Research from Norway was conducted on 484 adolescent boys and 463 girls aged 15 to 18 years . They did a bone density test to look at the participants . The participants were also asked about their activities during weekends and physical activity they do .

It is known that teenage boys spend more time in front of a computer or researchers compared with young women . The longer young men spend their time in front of computers , the lower the bone mineral density in them .

" Bone mineral density is the most effective factor to predict the risk of future fractures . Study we show that teenage boys who spend much of their time in front of the television or computer more at risk of bone loss in the future , " said chairman researcher Dr. Anne Winther of the Arctic University of Norway , as reported by the Daily Mail ( 04 / 03 ) .

Even so , this study also showed that the effects of sitting too long in front of computers and televisions lower among girls and more impact on teenage boys . Adolescent girls who spend a lot of time in front of televisions and computers still have a lower risk of bone fragility exposed than teenage boys .

While this study revealed a link between the amount of time spent at the computer with bone density , but the researchers emphasize that there is no causal connection between the two. But at least this study may make teens more aware of their habits and bone health .

Do not spend too much time in front of the computer , especially when it is still in its infancy and young children . Doing enough physical activity every day , not only to prevent obesity but also for bone health and fitness .
